On 31st May, Sean O’Foghlu, Secretary General, Department of Education and Skills delivered a breakfast briefing “Agencies and Government Departments – Managing the Interface.” 29 ACESA members attended the meeting, held in a Dublin hotel.
Key Discussion Points
Sean shared his views on the reform agenda and how it affects agencies; and discussed department/agency governance. He delivered a very straight overview of current issues, which was of particular relevance to members involved in education but also had a wider general relevance.
The general agreement was that this meeting was very useful. Members would like to explore further current Government thinking on recruitment, resource allocation and policy development in the sectors, perhaps at a future date.
