PRESENTATION FROM MARTIN SHANAHAN, CHIEF EXECUTIVE OF FORFÁS

27 members attended this ACESA Breakfast Briefing entitled ‘Economy, Enterprise and Jobs’, addressed by Martin Shanahan, Chief Executive of Forfás. His presentation focused on the economic outlook in the context of his own work, the Action Plan for Jobs and the recent Forfás ‘Costs of Doing Business’ report.
Martin Shanahan has been to the forefront of the development of enterprise and innovation policy in Ireland. Most recently he led, at official level, the development of the Government’s Action Plan for Jobs.
The presentation outlined the focus of Forfás on enterprise development and the reduction of regulatory burden. Martin Shanahan offered an opening for Agencies to engage with Forfás on the Action Plan for Jobs.
The presentation gave a good overview of national issues and touched on some interesting and important topics. There were good audience questions, sparking a good discussion.
Evaluation
The post- meeting evaluation showed that 56 per cent of attendees found the meeting excellent and 44 per cent found it very good.
