Commentary
Stephanie Casey and John Devitt, who manage the Integrity at Work programme at Transparency International Ireland, were invited to discuss TI’s work and share their insights with the ACESA membership.
TI helps create supportive working environments for anyone to raise concerns of wrongdoing. Several members of ACESA are already members of IAW, including the Environmental Protection Agency, the Legal Aid Board, the Higher Education Authority, the Road Safety Authority, GSOC and the Policing Authority.
It was the consensus of the meeting that creating a supportive environment for raising issues of wrongdoing is wider than just protected disclosure policy and procedures.
Talking to ACESA colleagues is also a very useful resource.
TI Ireland is a very good advocacy organisation and assistance provider on the general issue of protected disclosures.
