Growth through Procurement

In the new world of outsourcing, Irish companies providing relevant services need to succeed, or jobs will not follow; and international out house companies will win the contracts, with jobs potentially going to overseas locations. The purpose of this event was to encourage an understanding of what our own Irish companies have to offer and to gain some understanding into how Enterprise Ireland is supporting Irish companies in this market with grant aid and significant job projections.
14 ACESA members attended this meeting and heard presentations on two relevant but connected topics. Stephen Hughes addressed “Growth through Procurement – Public Sector & Irish SME’s working together” and Joe Breslin covered “The structure of Ireland’s Business Processing Industry”.
The information provided was useful, and helped members realise that there is potential for greater use of procurement across a range of activities within the Public sector, utilising private sector companies who specialise in these areas.
