State Boards.ie – The First Few Months.
On 17th June, 23 members attended a breakfast briefing to hear an update from Fiona Tierney (Public Appointments Service) on the first few months of operation of stateboards.ie .
Members were pleased to note that within the limitations specified PAS has put an excellent structured process in place. Given the relative newness of www.stateboards.ie the meeting was a good opportunity to learn more about its use as a gateway to the appointments process. Based on its development to date, the processes it introduces will be good for the users.
Areas giving rise to queries are the involvement of the Chair in the process, the fact that Chairs are still not necessarily appointed as a result of this process and that Ministers are still slow with the final decision.
